Blueberry Blues
Feeling: Apprehensive

Yeah. I missed the deadline by an hour, cause I was busy looking up threads for Blueberry.
*sigh.
I have a great BIG headache right now, as it was inevitable to happen--- fan gave out. It didn't start acting up til the weather started getting chilly, but I thought that was just a typical sign of the ever-so-fussy climate control. More of a nuisance than a luxury, I've come to see that my blower fan is caput.
FINDING a thread IDENTICAL to my situation seemed almost impossible, for a self-diagnosis of blueberry's ailment but here it is:

So for a couple weeks there was a whining from the blower motor, similar to a bearing going bad (which it probably is). This morning, it just sounds like it is clunking (lack of better term) and really isn't pushing any air out the vents. Confirmed it is the blower fan by turning off the CC and the noise stopped. I looked through the tech articles and the closest thing that i can find to removing or replacing this is the heater core replacement. Does anyone know if the the fan/blower motor can be replaced without taking the car apart like the heater core replacement?
