Who needs pants when there's Shirt Dresses

The boyfriend trend has come -with the boyfriend pants, boyfriend shirt- and here is my fave variation of the larger-than-usual trend, aka The Shirt Dress.

The reason I love this look is that it reminds me of those Maxim-esque photo shoots where the girl is wearing nothing but a man's dress shirt... Who needs pants when you have a shirt dress anyway?
I'm looking for one to wear in the spring in summer, preferrably in a neutral or gray. The basic black, is shown above, but I'm moving away from blacks and keeping them as my accent colour in my outfits. I'm doing 'spring cleaning' and I did away with much of my blacks.

Uber excited to be on the hunt for my spring fashion finds! Weee!
(Who knows, I'll probably just rummage through Frank's closet and belt up one of his dress shirts!)

Leonardo DiCaprio

He's my first real 'celebrity-crush.' From ..Growing Pains, to Gilbert Grape, to Basketball Diaries, to Romeo & Juliet *swoooooon*, to Titanic (I'll never let go Jack), to The Beach, Gangs of New York.....& The Departed and now Shutter Island, Leonardo DiCaprio is as perfected in his art as Leonardo Da Vinci.

Poised to team up with Scorcese yet again, this time for a Frank Sinatra Biopic *ultra swoooooon* I will definitely buy pre-sales just for my own satisfaction!

The photo inset to the left is the exact shot my sister gave me as a tween, professionally printed. A departure from my attraction to the Southern Italian appearance, Leo is all Roma. He's the 'Mr.BIG' of the real world, and not one woman has been able to really tie him down, he and Bar Rafaeli have been rumoured to be engaged, but those remain what they are -rumours.

Why he's hot: Need more of an explanation? Here's additional info: he's a tree hugger, an activist, not a passivist. He's the greatest actor of his generation, and still carries that boyish charm/charisma even as he ages. Google his Esquire photo session and you'll understand.

Signature Line: I'm The King of The World! Wooooo!!

Sexy, Smart and UBER Swoon-worthy.

Underworld (4) - Kate Beckinsale returns 2011

You have no idea how excited I was to hear that Kate Beckinsale is returning for the Fourth Installment (3rd in sequence, minus the prequel) of the Underworld franchise! Perez Hilton made my day when he confirmed the rumours and ended all speculation a couple weeks ago. Frank and I watch movies and can critique them pretty well -this franchise is by far one of our favourites, we watched all in theaters on opening weekends.

It has yet to be confirmed whether Kate's hubby director, Len Wiseman, will/not direct the film, either way it will be interesting to see where the storyline goes with Selene now a day-walker, dating a hybrid.

Human-vampire-lycan offspring?? This is *my version* of Twilight. The OriGinal human-vampire love story minus all the teenage angst.

....I Like My Money Right Where I Can See It... Hanging In My Closet

This is my idea of a Friday night. I bought a put-it-together-yourself-and-kick-yourself-in-the-process-but-fall-completely-in-love-with-the-results shelving kit at a store, view and admire, showcase for my bags *happy grin*

I've already pimped my closet out with uber chic hangers, and have my shoes shelved away nicely at the top of my closet, but they are not photo-op ready.

Anyway, as I digress, I've grown sick over seeing my bags hung sloppily behind my door, so I decided to be proactive and create a solution with my own bare hands. Almost 2 hours later..... (DON'T LET APPEARANCES DECEIVE YOU, THIS MAY LOOK LIKE A SIMPLE KIT, BUT THE DYNAMICS OF PUSHING THE LINKS AND LEVELLING ALL PANELS TO *CLICK* INTO PLACE IS SHEER HORROR)..... I now have a spot for my bags, including my beloved betsey johnson animal instinct luggage & created more space on my top shelf for my organizational-neat-freak self.

I am very pleased.....my most productive Friday night.

PS- Rocky is the best company to ever have!!

Weighing My Apples and Oranges

February 18, 2010 and I'm sitting here, in limbo, for what seems like forever. Uncertainty has kept me company for the last few years, and hope has been the light at the end of the tunnel. Faith is what has kept me going, and support has been my safety net and airbags for those 'crash and burn' times.

To know me, is to know that I'm a goal-oriented person. I set my eyes on something, and before I know it, it's mine, I have it, or it's on-the-way to be signed, sealed, delivered into my life. That is primarily why the last few years have been so unravelling for me. I'm a 'got it together' kind of person, and one who doesn't appreciate delays. As the quote on my facebook states,"Ambition is like love, impatient both of delays and rivals.”

Enough with my rambling, I'm in limbo -with myself. Looking forward, I need to weigh my options in order to know which is best for me to move forward. Just when I thought I had Plan A and Plan B, I now cannot differentiate between the two.

Here's to hoping that the next year or so gives me some perspective.

Victoria Says....

“He’s got more personality than people think and he’s very deep and spiritual. He always knows how to dress, that was part of his appeal originally. We’ve got matching dogs, matching watches, similar wardrobes, matching Jags. I know it´s tacky, but it makes me laugh.”

Romp in the grass...at the beach...anywhere!

One of my wardrobe must-haves for this season is a romper/jumpsuit. I still cringe when I think back to letting go 2 pieces (1) from H&M in khaki (2) from Forever21 in black....and they ACTUALLY had my SIZE! So I will not make another mistake for the sake of saving $$ ever again! Grrrr................

Victoria Beckham Spring-Summer Collection 2010

So, instead of spending Love Day with her Hot-to-trot husband and adorable boys, Victoria was in NY with her 2nd love -her clothing line. She unveiled her new collection at Fashion Week in NYC, silencing the critics and nay-sayers. Most in the industry quietly hoped that she would flop, but she rose to the occasion and her collection for Spring-Summer 2010 was well-received!

Although it may have been in her favour to have some A-list friends to parade her flocks (ahem-ahem Eva Longoria) Victoria is her own #1 and will wear one of her own works from her collection to The Oscars. To view her pieces, and the one she will don for the awards (jumpsuit), which she describes as, "effortless," click here.

I may not be in fashion design, but I know something nice when I see it; her pieces are architecturally pleasing and if they weren't so eye-gaugingly expensive, would wear one for the wedding I have this coming Spring. A girl can dream....

Urbandictionary.com and Jillian & Francesco

Jillian
This is a complex name to understand let alone define. The reason this is so complicated is because the many theory's experts have come to. One of the theory's states that this name is only used for people with extreme power and or abilities like a goddess or pharaoh. The extent of this name cannot put into perspective for the simple fact that a word has not been created that fully describes her. Philosophers say Cleopatra was going to be named Jillian but once the power of the name alone was considered they decided she could not fulfill such large shoes.

We have been graced with few words/phases that describe Jillian.

Jillian is an incredible friend, who's loyal and wont stab you in the back. She has an amazing sense of humor and loves to laugh and have a good time. She may come up with some ideas that simple minded humans cannot see the point or concept, these ideas takes someone else who's name shares the same magnitude as hers. Because of this some may consider her and some of her ideas crazy, stop yourself from thinking this because this type of crazy is far past your imagination and should be thought of as a good thing. Shes a beautiful woman to say the least. Hot/sexy would also be another good term to address her appearance. Her intelligence is far beyond anything a simple mind can understand so dont even try to venture down that road. Simply put Jillian is awesome for lack of a better word.Jillian. there is nothing that accurately describes her but this is as close as we can get.

Francesco
Usually an italian name for a person whose nickname in english can be Frank or Frankie.

Because the people who have the name of Francesco are usually Italian they have great Italian sauges that women love to eat.

WOMEN: Hey Francesco, can i have some of your great sausage??

FRANCESCO: Sure, get in line with the rest of the ladies waiting for my meat!!

HAHAHAHA Frank will soooo love this definition.

Spring Shoe-by Dooby Do's

Here are three of my shoe-wants for the spring.
  1. Seaney: This shoe is a must-have for any wardrobe. Reason being? Neutrals are an in for the spring/summer, where there will be an influx of tans, browns and cognacs in fabrics aside from accessories. I love the peep-toe & gill detailing, in addition, the li'l side zipper adds that metal embellishment that is city chic nowadays. The slingback ups this shoe from a simple slip-on to keep-on, and the wedge heel will give fashion and comfort when walking for longer periods.
Perfect to pair with: jean capris, open white collared shirt with a navy or beige/nude tank-camisole.
  2. Schaber: I'm utterly in love with the return of greys and silvers. This color-tone is multi-seasonal, and for the spring-summer, paired with crisp whites and pale pastels, grey is the new black. I have returned to my no-flats repetoire and will wear them on limited occasion this year. The schaber will definitely be a fore runner in this pursuit, as I love my JS ankle booties, but the black leather/metal detailing can be too harsh for the spring summer. Schaber in grey, is a must have for me, because I see them paired with my bermudas/short shorts; the open toe and side slouch bootie design make a great transition from winter to s-s season footwear. Perfect to pair with: a great pair of white bermuda/short shorts, a black/dark grey tank and light material cardi.
  3. Hamsik: Okay, I know I just stated that I am anti-flatwear this season, but not for driving, and for long shopping trips, or on walks with rocky when I may need to hop, skip and run....this is a great way to wear a flat fashionably. The ankle detail adds dimension to an otherwise 'flat' looking shoe. The leather-link design give the shoe the added pizazz that old navy flats cannot offer. Perfect to pair with: a dress -be it a short dress or maxi.

Matthew McConaughey

He is a perfect 10....and for his hotness, I love to call him Mateo. Here's to my rom-com valentine; the man who makes being half-naked sexier than full frontal..

Why he's hot: Thanks to the paparazzi, plenty of the pictures of Matthew are of him 1/2 naked. YUM. He's a total fitness freak and is always active. He stars in the greatest rom-coms -How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and The Wedding Planner. He's an all-around guy's guy, who can dress it down cowboy style or dress it up for D&G. Ultimately, this picture below is what melted my heart. Mateo and Levi beachside, just lounging. ADORABLE
Matthew Says:“Now I've made it. Wait until you see the roles I could take after this. You're going to see my gut hanging over, plus 22 [pounds]. It'll be a whole new kind of sexy!”

Valentine's Day: The Day & Movie

The day starts off as usual...nothing unusual; planning a usual night out...that would likely end up at Mr.Greek -having our usual order of 2 appetizers, 2 full meals and plenty of refills to chase all that food down.

In fact, the day was quite the opposite from days of recent Valentine's past. It actually felt like Valentine's day! Waiting for Frank to come over in the late afternoon, I watch my ultimate fave rom-com (romantic comedy) 'How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days'

When Frank arrives, the movie is not even a third of the way through, and coincidently, he comes during commercial -and my bathroom break. I run back to the room to catch the last commercial before the movie begins again, and am excited to have done so...all the while, Frank is staring at me, with a weird grin on his face.

He still has his jacket on, and I look at him, like, "what's the problem? need help taking your jacket off?" and he signals me to look over at my dresser with his eyes, and there stands this adorably clad teddy bear with a rose, heart keychain and lindt chocolates! I scream and hug him -winter jacket and all!

"Happy Valentine's day Poopie..," he says.

We finish the movie, and I am utterly excited to have watched it with my 2nd Valentine (sorry Rocky asked me first in the morning) on Valentine's day....I couldn't have asked for more; but I did.

"So, what are we gonna do now?"
After much pleading, and negotiating (to watch other films) he gives in.

FS: Is it a comedy?
JC: Yes....
FS: Oh, okay then..and what's it called again?
JC: Valentine's Day**clicky
FS: What's supposed to be funny about that?
JC: It's a romantic comedy
FS: Ugh.. I JUST WATCHED ONE OF THOSE!!!

We catch the movie just in time to find seats in a full theatre in the aisle that meets the entrance -not the best, but better than the very front row of the theatre. We're both pleased... we watch the movie, and parts of it are sweeter than honey while the rest can be heartbreaking. The movie is a perfect date movie, and how often can one say,"I watched 'Valentine's Day' ON Valentine's Day?"Post-teatro we visit Ana and Cory at their private St.Valentine's Day rendezvous and chill out for a couple hours... we head home to our little Valentino, Rocco.

For a Valentine's day that goes in the books. 2010 is starting off wonderfully well..... I am happy, pleased, and happy, because I'm loved -by 2 wonderful Valentines.

Backstreet Boys Rant!

The Backstreet Boys (God Knows how much I love them) have not picked the best songs to release or even put out on their last 3 LPs! There are so many great songs that showcase their R&B vocal range, yet they have not put these songs on any of their albums..let alone release them to the public (most of whom do not buy their albums, and only hear what is released on the radio)

Here goes another youtube link-fest of my ULTIMATE BSB FAVE UNRELEASED/MASS PRODUCED SONGS..simply, wasted potential. It's not 1999 anymore boys! GET WITH IT!

Sap Happy Status: Activated

Reading through my blog roll under The Monogamists, I've caught a case of sap-throat, and have been watching youtube vids of lovey-dovey songs.... *no tears.

Wanna join me in my sap fest? I've taken some anti-sap-otics so this should subside by morning...until then, here are said video clips
ENJOY!

Valentine's Day 2010

This holiday is often a need for discussion as the question always comes up, "So, do you and Frank have any plans for Valentine's day?" - with my reply being, "No. nothing special." Before all you hopeless romantics scream and shout, it's not a matter of me being an anti-valentine's day person; it lends itself more towards Valentine's day being in a state of 'dormancy' or 'hibernation.'

To further explain, Frank and I have had about 10 valentine days throughout our courtship; and I think we've expanded our horizons! The cards, the bears/stuffed toys, chocolates....but one thing that is a given, (regardless of whether valentine's day falls on the weekend or not) is a dinner.

The way to Frank and I's hearts is through our stomach - and we know that about each other. It's time spent together (last couple of years, with Rocky) doing our favourite thing - eating. YUM. But as I sit here, and notice that there are only 4 more valentine's days to left til that 'key year,' I have to admit that I'm a little giddy inside.

That means Frank and I have '4' years to tie up loose ends, check the motor oil, and get on going.....

(I'm trailing behind, but as I tell myself, The tortoise wins the race.)

Victoria Beckham Collection

Victoria is a perfectionist, so much so that she works straight through her lunch in Milan to look at samples of the dresses that she will debut in New York for Fashion Week.

She'll be back in New York as she will be showcasing her labour of love, The Victoria Beckham Collection, and will join the ladies on The View February 17th.

In-set to the right, she wore a dress from her Spring 2010 collection back in December...the girl's doesn't only have beauty, she's got brains too.

Victoria says......

"David looks good in everything. He's so good-looking he can do whatever he wants. He can almost challenge his good looks, which I like. I liked it when he had that beard - it looked like he'd just rolled out of bed. But then David would look great with a bag on his head. It's impossible for him to look anything other than gorgeous."

No Pain, No Gain

Apparently, as of late, Victoria, who once said that flats only belong on ballet dancers, has been wearing the 'fashion faux pas' in an effort to let her feet rest. She, along with Kelly Osbourne, has bunions - a foot condition that causes the bone joining your big toe to stick out; which is quite painful. This condition comes about after wearing heels for extended periods of time and the only form of treatment is through surgery. This would leave Victoria in a wheelchair for 6 weeks, and her efforts to avoid the surgery (by giving her feet a break) have fallen on deaf ears.. or should I say, high heels. Here she is seen in gorgeous Louboutins...I think she's a soldier. :) Keep on, keeping on!

Give it like Beckham

Again, in my argument for Becks/Posh as America's Brad and Angelina (with Euro flair) have, "raised almost £1 million for vulnerable young people in five years, it has emerged.

According to the Mirror, the couple's charity, run by Victoria's mother Jackie, has brought in £913,269 since 2005.

The Victoria and David Beckham Children's Charity gave money to 12 causes in 2009, including £2,487 to the Aids Mobility Centre, which provides young people with wheelchairs and other specialist equipment.

David Watling, managing director of the charity, commented: "To have raised so much money and helped so many people is amazing.

"Some of these wheelchairs can cost £10,000 and they are life-changing."

According to its website, the charity organisation was established in 2002 and has so far provided equipment to over 1,000 children and young people in order to improve their independence.

David Beckham is also on the leadership council at Malaria No More UK, as well as functioning as a goodwill ambassador for Unicef since January 2005."

It warms my heart to know that a couple with such a great platform is doing something positive with their resources and not merely wasting away all that 'excessive' capital that they gain, combined. Money makes money... to give money..

Al Pacino

I thought to myself,"hey, I have a Sex and the City themed blog...but where on it am I drooling over men?" So, in honour of my Sex and the City Gals, and for my own pleasure, I present you the different men who are my eye-candy; all under the label, "EPISODE 48: Cock-a-doodle-doo"....

First and foremost... my love affair with AL PACINO.He ages like a fine wine...... che bello!!

  • Why he's hot: Kids nowadays think swagger comes with bling and pants down to your knees...whereas us older gens know much better. Swagger, like Pacino's comes with a simple look, a little persuasion, and a Kiss of Death. How could you Fredo?!

  • Signature line(s): I know it was you, Fredo! You broke my heart! You broke my heart!

  • Say Hello to my little friend!!

  • What have you done for me lately?: Righteous Kill

A Million Reasons Why I Love You

A couple of years ago, for our Anniversary, I made Frank a book entitled, "100 Reasons Why I Love You." For us, I had created a notebook of sorts, where I used to write down every little thing we did or what he said to me, complete with a date and time stamp. I kept receipts, movie stubs, little momentos, and everything of the sort; so for me, this book was a compilation of everything, compressed into 100 reasons...along with each reason, accompanied a picture or image relevant or meaningful to the reason. In between the pages of the book, I added a bunch of quotes that meant a lot to me, because they were closest way in words, that I could describe how I see and feel about us. This book means as much to me (even though it was meant for him) because it acts as a time capsule and brings me back to those little moments along our relationship that still give me butterflies; it makes me feel 13 again... 13 going on 23 (well 24)

Here are some of the reasons
  • 100: Remember in Grade 8 when we were on the phone, and I asked you to guess what cereal it was that I was eating, and instead of saying the typical Count Chocula answer, you said the correct answer, "Honey Nut Cheerios"
  • 95: On the last day of school in Grade 8, after going to Lochleven, you double-rode me on your bike all the way to the bus stop and my Piglet-head keychain got stuck in your wheel
  • 91: "Smile for me" -The time you tried not to smile after school because everytime that you did I called it a 'Freebie.' You ended up giving me 18
  • 88: You put MyBaby4Life as my ID in your first cell phone
  • 86: You actually read the 'Love Book' I gave you and one day at the park said, "Shut up and kiss me," and did it.
  • 84: The way you used the Fire analogy from Titanic in the summer of grade 8 to tell me how you felt about me
  • 65: An E-Card that you sent me, dated March 17 2001 that read: Cat's out of the bag...We're engaged! Jill I love you, want you, need you, but there is only one thing on my mind now and that is, Will you marry me baby"
  • 64: April 26 2002: "This is to prove how much I love you..It's a token of my love, to keep your finger warm intil the real thing." You skipped class to go to the mall and get me that ring..
  • 63: At Speed City Raceway (Wonderland) after you raced, you carried me up in the air and said,"You're my trophy!" Like Dom and Letty in Fast and the Furious
  • 60: "I can't wait until the day I see you coming down the aisle, then your dad hands you over to me and I can take care of you forever."
  • 59: At the first Summer Rush at the the Docks, you called me on the phone and said, "How long are you willing to wait for me?" I say, "forever." turning around with you right behind me
Your Valentine's Day Poem to me,
"It's something that we can't describe and can't draw on paper. It's something that we feel and express, even when we're not together. It's something that conquers all, which nothing can affect. It's something that holds us together, It's what makes us connect. It's what I call Love.

Here are a few of the quotes I put in:
  1. Real love stories never have endings
  2. Love is composed of a single soul, inhabiting two bodies
  3. Love's greatest gift is it's ability to make everything it touches sacred.
  4. When you love someone, all your saved-up wishes start coming out
  5. Love is not blind, it sees more, not less.
  6. **Dream alone and it's just a dream, but dream together and it becomes reality (our motto)
  7. When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible
  8. My words to him,"You're my happily ever after"
  9. Love is like a friendship caught on fire
  10. Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together, in the same direction

Sap Happy

For some people it takes a lifetime to meet their special someone. Lucky for me, I met him in a little classroom where we learned our ABCs and 123s. What has shaken me to my core is watching 13 Going on 30 with Jennifer Garner. Short synopsis, the two main characters are childhood best friends, and the main plot of the story takes you to where they are when they are 30-- not where we'd expect from the beginning.... but as it ends, it ends the way that proves it's only the beginning. I can't wait 'til we realize all the dreams we've been dreaming up together. Recently we reminisced on the time during our high school years that we could only hope to go to prom together, and that he couldn't promise me where we'd be at 23. Well as it stands, let's take inventory:

  1. We rode the ups and downs of high school together and apart
  2. We closed that chapter of our lives and actually went to Prom together
  3. He was my Escort for my debut and we did a bang-on job with our Cotillion Entourage
  4. He taught me how to drive standard
  5. Many summers of Niagara and Peterborough
  6. We got and spoiled our fur baby - Rocky
  7. We've danced nights away at night clubs, galas and fundraisers
  8. Walks along the boardwalk
  9. Braved an 18 hour in-flight journey
  10. Experienced the sights and sounds of the Philippines
With so much more to come...

for a piece of sap, here's what I wrote on his Facebook wall:

I just watched, "13 Going on 30," and just wanted to say that I love you. Not just the 23yo you, but the 13yo you. Wow. 10 years...♥ How time flies when we"re having fun! PS- Sorry so sappy... I think its' one of those days....

HBO Sex and the City SHOP

Here are my 'want' items from

All pics courtesy of HBO

The Carrie Diaries

Source: The Examiner

Did you ever wonder how Carrie Bradshaw got to be so fabulous? Well now you can find out who Carrie was before the Manolos, in Candace Bushnell's latest books, The Carrie Diaries, set to be released April 27, 2010, just one month before the new SATC movie hits theaters.

he first in a two book series, The Carrie Diaries will chronicle Carrie Bradshaw's teen years, following her as she develops her fashion sense, creating trends only Carrie could make popular. The book will also go along for the ride of Carrie's first love, which is sure to explain how Ms. Bradshaw got her start in writing about her crazy relationships.

I'm utterly excited to have my first chick lit for 2010 reserved for The Carrie Diaries... with my literature of late consisting of psychology texts and human geography, I need a literal literature getaway and this will be it!

You know where I'll be April 27th!

No Sex and the City 3

Rumours of a third installment have been shot down, The New Line Cinema executives admit that there are no plans for a third movie installment, Contactmusic reported.

I agree with the decision because I don't want them bringing the whole series down to the ground. In May, I hope Nelly and I leave the theatre with a pleasant farewell, or 'see you soon on DVD' to the ladies that define what it is to be lady; a dreamer, cautious/cynical, ambitious, and creatively reflective.

'Til May....

Noah Mills

"It's my first film, and there was a lot to prove. Every day was like, 'I belong here!'" says Noah, who's playing "tough, but gorgeous blue-collar type" Nicky for Kim Cattrall's Samantha Jones.
He's only 26yo!!

Hopefully he gets more scenes than Gilles did in the first movie... what about Smith?!

Victoria says...........

“There are celebrities who always look great, always look pretty, but it’s always the same hair, the same makeup, and I find that quite boring. I want to change it up, do something really creative. I think that might be why women like me.”

Beckhams' His and Hers

Why have one Beckham when you can have both! IMO they trump Brad and Angelina any day! Angelina's look has remained stagnant whilst Vicky has consistently delivered new looks each season; but I guess the latter has the advantage of being a designer....

Anyway, here's their dual cover for 10Mag. Enjoy the double eye-candy!

Posh is as Posh does

Happy 2010!! To celebrate the much goings-on in the infancy of the new year, I chopped off my signature long longs and did a VBeckham! It took 2 tries to get it right, but that's why I'll trust a gay stylist ANYDAY!! All I did was say Victoria Beckham and he got it...of course, for 'security' reasons, I brought along my sis' IPhone with the following pic of my ultimate fave celeb.

So in celebration of the new year and my new 'do I'm adding a category dedicated to my spice girl, Victoria, entitled after the episode: Models & Mortals; her the model, I the mortal. I can't explain what it feels like to cut off all the excess baggage....thx vb for the push --especially after committing myself to taking the plunge after watching her "Coming to America" special in the Philippines.

*sigh.

Michael Jackson- I'll Be There (Pepsi Commercial)

This one's for you Mom <3

Michael Jackson- Human Nature

So, I watched This Is It and literally cried during Human Nature... I don't know where it came from, but it was sudden and tears couldn't stop rolling down my face. (I'll be there brought my mom to tears- as it is her fave MJ Song)

I don't know if it was the sheer magnitude of seeing his last performance..but he sang this song beautifully well.

Since I'm occupying myself watching videos from YouTube.. here is my review of This is It.
  • The footage felt very raw and natural (this footage was for Michael's own personal library- not as if it were to be released in as bonus footage for public viewing)
  • Michael was thin physically but full of heart in every performance-- his voice unaffected by years of emotional turmoil.
  • I loved his phrases "Let it simmer..." "Nourish the audience" "Bathe in the moonlight"
  • Michael's pure genius is transpired and evident: notes and musical performances that sound amazing to the average person's ear would sometimes need a bit of tweeking with Michael's firm but gentle input. He felt every note and knew his songs inside out
  • This movie portrays the Michael prior to his 10-year-onstage-hiatus, glowing and oozing a natural, God-given radiance that he put to use in every aspect of preparation....and execution
  • The only disappointment, I was hoping that Remember the Time would have made his set list
  • I really enjoyed the melding together of his performance(s) with their FX backscreen clips -- especially for They Don't Really Care About Us
  • I was glad to see the complete opposite of the Michael the media portrayed/reported to have been very ill, forced to perform-- he came alive while performing, preparing to perform, or anything involved with his music.
  • This is It will leave Michael's True Legacy in the minds of all who see it
  • I will watch this in theatre again...it was a great experience.

This is....GREAT: Backstreet Boys release THIS IS US

So my babies have released their next LP entitled This Is Us. I'm gonna go spoil myself and buy it- for the morning drives in and the evening drives home. =) Another reason to go to Yorkdale for the Xth time in the past month!

My BFF even has their Chapter 1 on replay in her car- she can't deny that she'll always KTBSPA! We discussed what our fave bsb songs are and agreed that it's often their unreleased songs that hit a chord with us...one to mention: Back to Your Heart off Millennium. Again, both agreed that that was by far- their best LP.

I've already been a snooper and have heard many of their songs on this new album- but to hear the studio quality- is what I'm waiting for.

It's like I'm a tween again (except these are not the Jonas Brothers) they're the Backstreet Brothers and have held their own since the '90s pop revolution.

I'm proud to say their back...not for the now seemingly non-existence in mainstream radio- but for the fans.

BSB Fans are and always will love them, and for this record This_is_FOR_Us!

Penny Pincher

The school year is in full swing and I've come to see the additional expenses that require my pocket-strings' attention. The expense of gas, parking and the sort are fixed expenses that I now need to take in account for the months I am in school.

I have plenty of expenses to follow- not to mention the tuition- for the year so I have to save every penny I've got. Aiming to see where my money trickles out from under, I'm now vowing to not eating out. Period.... well, not exactly. I'll get a coffee here and there- but no Starbucks runs, which equates to radical spending- careless spending.

I'll be happy to get my piggy bank and money re-acquainted.

Zoo-boo-mafoo

I'm one step closer to becoming a volunteer at The Toronto Zoo. I have, for many years, wanted to become a volunteer-- but scheduling conflicted with their mandatory training sessions and all that- so here I am, with an interview on the 16th to meet with their volunteer co-ordinator..

One check mark on my long to-do list.

=) Don't think I can hide how excited I am-- but in case it's not translating, I'M UBER EXCITED!

Ogopogo

Set the Scene: In Frank's room talking about randomness after work, as he drifts in and out of consciousness; falling asleep to my rambling.

I often gauge his level of awareness by asking him weird questions and based on his reaction, I can tell whether or not he's really falling asleep. As an example, as follows:

(.....*following a conversation about reading comprehension in elementary school)
Jill: Do you remember the first reading story that I helped you on and you got a good mark for it?
Frank: *pause* ...Midnight is a Place...
Jill: *in a ranting voice* No! That's not it- you know that was later in the year, why would you answer that? bla bla bla...
Frank: *interrupting her* ...Ogopogo. Now can you please shut up about me not remembering...I just wanted to see your reaction. *imitating her saying* "Oh I can't believe you don't remember!***
Jill: *crying. How do you remember? I can't believe you remember Ogopogo....
Frank: *pause* First she's whining, now she's crying. I'm going to sleep!
Jill: Please don't scratch yourself and ruin such a nice moment.
